X GAMES NORWAY RECAP

The fourth annual X Games Norway went down over the weekend, and what a unique edition it was.

Consisting of ski and snowboard big air, skateboard and motorcross competitions, the centralized, one-day event took place in its entirely inside the Telenor Arena in Oslo, with some of the world’s top action sports athletes in attendance.

And if that wasn’t enough, for an added dose of excitement, the scaffolding big air setup came with a twist, as the top of the in-run was situated outside of the stadium, with the drop-in ramp descending into it.

The women took to this monstrous feat first, with the format consisting of each athlete receiving three jumps, with their best two tricks (which needed to be a combination of two of the following directional spins: left, right, switch left or switch right) being scored out of 50 towards a total of 100.

In the end, Mathilde Gremaud, who won big air gold in Aspen, happily settled for third, while Giulia Tanno repeated her silver medal performance from X Games Norway last year, and Tess Ledeux brought home her first X Games gold medal after scoring silver and bronze in past events.

On the men’s side of things, Canada’s very own Alex Beaulieu-Marchand continued his X Games hot streak by winning his fourth medal of the year (following silvers in slopestyle and big air in Aspen and a bronze in Real Ski), while Henrik Harlaut, the most decorated big air skier in X Games history, added a silver to his ever-growing trophy case in his first event post-knee surgery, and Alex Hall, who won slopestyle in Aspen, walked away with his second X Games gold medal of the year.
