Listen: Whistler Blackcomb has had one helluva season. How good, you ask? They've already received 7 centimetres more snow this year than they received in all of last season.

Because the season has been so damn good, Whistler Blackcomb has officially launched a new way to make your friends jealous: WB+. The new platform, which can be accessed through the Whistler Blackcomb Live app and online, uses the resort's RFID technology to collect stats like total vertical ridden. Such data will allow you to quickly establish who is the alpha among your group of friends. Get registered.

Whistler Blackcomb has officially launched WB+, a new web and mobile platform connected to the resort’s RFID technology. WB+ offers guests the option to create a personal profile in order to collect stats and data about their time on the mountains, including number of days on the slopes and total vertical ridden. Guests can also use WB+ to set goals, track progress, collect badges for notable milestones, and even compete against other skiers and riders.

“We are beyond thrilled to introduce WB+ to our guests during our 50th anniversary season,” says Stuart Rempel, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Whistler Blackcomb. “Since the installation of our RFID gates last season, it has been our vision to show guests the further benefits of this technology. WB+ will add another level of play at Whistler Blackcomb and will enhance the guest experience on North America’s largest mountain resort.”

WB+ is free for guests to register for and can be accessed from desktop, tablet and mobile devices. Coming soon, WB+ will also offer users the ability to connect with friends, create groups, climb leaderboards, and share stats via social media.

To add to the fun, the WB+ member who skis the most vertical this winter will win an unlimited season pass for the 2016-2017 season. The benchmark has been set high by Pierre Marc Jette, who skied 1,857,812 vertical meters over the 2014-2015 season in the name of Alzheimer’s research, almost double the vertical skied by the runner up. Whistler Blackcomb presented him with a 2015-2016 season pass in recognition of his accomplishment.

More information about WB+, including how to sign up, is available at https://plus.whistlerblackcomb.com/welcome. Guests must have an active Whistler Blackcomb RFID enabled lift access pass in order to create a WB+ profile.
