Red Bull Cold Rush Big Mountain Event Delayed

Howdy from Revelstoke, B.C., host of the best backcountry event in the business, Red Bull Cold Rush. The three-discipline competition (big mountain, cliffs and backcountry slopestyle) was scheduled to begin today with the big mountain portion of the event, but due to inclement weather, it's been postponed until tomorrow.

This of course is a bit of a bummer for Red Bull and the laundry list of marquee athletes in attendance at The Stoke (click here to see who's competing), but for us at Forecast, it was selfishly welcomed news, as thanks to two days worth of travel (complete with cancelled and delayed flights, a car accident and copious amounts of cheap Canadian gas) courtesy of the Xtreme weather at the X Games, we just settled into the luxurious Sutton Place Hotel at the base of Revelstoke Mountain Resort, and as Aerosmith's Steven Tyler recently crooned with a Russian hobo, "I don't want to miss a thing."

Because of the slight delay, the event's schedule has been modified, so read below for the lowdown from Red Bull, and stay tuned to this here website along with redbull.ca/coldrush, instagram.com/redbullcanada, twitter.com/redbullcanada & #ColdRush2016 for daily updates on the good times that are aboot to ensue, eh.

RED BULL COLD RUSH BIG MOUNTAIN EVENT DELAYED

Due to weather challenges, the Red Bull Cold Rush Big Mountain event will be held February 3

REVELSTOKE, BC – February 2, 2016 – For an event like Red Bull Cold Rush that truly depends on natural mountain conditions, Mother Nature always has the final say. With athletes and crew assembled at the base of Greely Bowl at Revelstoke Mountain Resort, the decision was made to postpone the Big Mountain portion of the event until February 3rd at 10am. With safety the main priority, poor visiblity from the mountain peak in the out of bounds area forced the call.

As a result of the delay, the following Slopestyle and Cliff events will also be pushed back by one day. Below is an updated version of the schedule.

EVENT SCHEDULE
Below is a brief summary of the event schedule throughout the week. Due to weather conditions, the event schedule may vary from the times and dates listed below and any changes may be notified as late as the day of the event.
