When Maddie Bowman dropped in for her third and final run during the 2016 X Games Women's SuperPipe finals on Friday night, she only had herself to beat—and she did just that, besting her run two score of 87.33 with an 89.00.

In typical fashion, Bowman stomped both leftside and rightside 900s on her way to the podium, but added a switch leftside 900 as her last hit this year, a trick she learned a few days prior to the event. Following her on the podium was Japanese powerhouse Ayana Onozuka and American Annalisa Drew. Onozuka's run included a multitude of both leftside and rightside spins, while Drew's run included the contest's only alley-oop flatspin 540.

A hat tip goes out to Canadians Roz Groenewoud and Cassie Sharpe for their performances. Groenewoud, a decorated X Games veteran, kicked her runs off with back-to-back 900s but was unable to crack the podium. Sharpe, an X Games rookie, hung out her enormous leftside 900 and back-to-back flairs showing that she'll be an force to be reckoned with in years to come.

An honourable mention goes out to American Brita Sigourney for her enormous 900s.

X Games 2016 continues Saturday with the Big Air contest taking the stage in the evening. Stay tuned.
