Taking Shape | The North Face
British Columbia’s Coast Range was born by violent upheavals of tectonic plates and volcanic eruptions, carved by glacial flows, and endured great floods to give structure and form to some of the most diverse mountains in the world.
With world-class skiing and snowboarding to be had in its hills, these peaks draw adventure seekers to cut their teeth, push their edge, and test their mettle. Though the Sea to Sky region has graced the silver screen in countless snowsports movies, they’re known intimately by few.
Those who dwell in the Coast Range’s shadow and source their daily inspiration from these cathedrals have a special magnetism to and affinity for this backcountry arena.
Taking Shape is a short film presented by Forecast Ski and The North Face that tells the story of these mountains’ transformation, and the athletes who call them home.
