The World Ski and Snowboard Festival returns April 6th to 12th, 2026 for its 30th anniversary, celebrating three decades of mountain culture in Whistler.
Since 1996, WSSF has brought together sport, music, film, art, and community in one unforgettable week. From iconic competitions like Slush Cup and The Grind to packed multimedia premieres and outdoor concerts, the festival marks the arrival of spring in the mountains like nothing else.

This year’s 30th anniversary edition brings back the creative showcases that helped define WSSF and launch careers in ski and snowboard culture.
Tickets for WSSF’s two biggest multimedia nights are now live, with limited early bird pricing available.

The 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown challenges teams to turn an idea into a finished three-to-five minute short film in just three days, filming within 100 kilometres of Whistler using any recording device. The pressure is real, the timelines are tight, and the creativity is on full display. The films premiere live in front of a festival crowd, where judges and audience members decide who walks away with the $5,000 grand prize and People’s Choice Award.

Intersection is a premier showcase of winter action sports filmmaking, where invited ski and snowboard crews are given just 12 days to conceptulize, shoot and edit a five-to-seven minute film. The result is a high-calibre cinematic premiere that captures progression, style and the evolution of mountain culture. Each film debuts live at the Whistler Conference Centre and is judged by industry leaders and the audience, with $10,000 awarded to the top crew. This is where reputation, creativity and performance collide on the big screen.
