The North Face Park & Pipe Open Series Halfpipe Deadline Approaching

Calling all stunt ditchers! We at Forecast wanted to take the time to remind you that the deadline for entries in the halfpipe portion of the The North Face Park & Pipe Open Series Virtual Competition is this Thursday (February 18th). Read below for all the details, and if you've yet to get your pipe on, get 'er done before it's too late!

Notable Names Stack PPOS Roster as Feb. 18 Halfpipe Deadline Approaches

ALAMEDA, CA (Feb. 16, 2016) - As the first of three deadlines for The North Face Park and Pipe Open Series (PPOS) Virtual Competition approaches the competition roster is stacking up with with some familiar names. February 18 marks the last day for halfpipe skiers to register and submit videos for the competition. Voting on halfpipe videos will be open Feb. 19-25 with halfpipe winners announced March 1. The next competition deadline will be for the big air category Feb. 25 followed by slopestyle on March 3. Please see the complete competition calendar below for more detail.

Notably, a number of familiar names are filling up the roster. Defending 2015 halfpipe champion Kyle Smaine has registered to compete again with 2015 halfpipe second place finisher Broby Leeds hot on his tail. In the women's competition, Allison Welsh is also returning in an attempt to clinch the first place halfpipe position again. Registration is currently open on TheNorthFacePPOS.com. Athletes can continue to register for each discipline through the final video submission dates.


Since 2010, The North Face Park and Pipe Open Series has provided a valuable platform for amateur athletes hoping to reach the elite competition level. The new PPOS Virtual Competition is designed to provide that same opportunity to freeskiers everywhere by filming their park and pipe runs at any local mountain, hill or ski area in North America. PPOS is supported in partnership with The North Face, Clif Bar, Rossignol, LOOK, GoPro, Newschoolers, Freeskier and Forecast.
