Team GIVE’R Freeride Club Fundraiser

The snow is coming, and so is the stoke! Team GIVE’R Freeride Club is thrilled to kick off their third season with a film fundraiser event featuring After The Snowfall, the latest cinematic masterpiece from Matchstick Productions. Join the ski community at The Bailey Theatre in Trail, B.C. on Sunday, November 9th for an unforgettable night celebrating ski culture and supporting local youth. The event kicks off at 4:30 p.m., with the show starting at 5:30 p.m.

“This program means everything to me,” says Ryan Lachapelle, Team GIVE’R club director. “Skiing has shaped my life, my friendships, and my best experiences. To now be able to share that with our athletes and give them those same opportunities is incredibly meaningful.”

Now in its third year, Team GIVE’R Freeride Club is a non-profit youth competitive freeski team training out of Red Mountain. The club has grown to 47 registered athletes, up from 38 last year, and is expanding its training options to include three-day programs (Friday–Sunday) and a new Sunday-only option. The team is welcoming new coaches and a technical director to further elevate athlete development.

“This season is shaping up to be a big one,” says Lachapelle. “We had an incredible year last season—great snow, strong competition results, and most importantly, tons of progression and fun on snow. Watching athletes land tricks for the first time or seeing pure joy on a powder day with the younger group—that’s what it’s all about.”

With the season ahead already buzzing with energy, what better way to launch it than with a film that captures the very spirit of skiing?

After The Snowfall is a high-octane, heartfelt journey through the culture and chaos of modern skiing. From deep powder mornings in Japan to heli-accessed steeps in BC, the film features elite athletes like Michelle Parker, Nikolai Schirmer, Logan Pehota , and Craig Murry, alongside everyday skiers whose passion burns just as bright.

“This fundraiser is massive for us,” Lachapelle adds. “It’s our biggest of the year, and all proceeds go toward covering travel expenses for coaches at out-of-town competitions. Last year, those costs were nearly $8,000, so this event makes a huge difference.”

In addition to the feature film, the evening will include a line up of short ski films, raffle prizes, door prizes, and pizza and beverages available for purchase during intermission. Come for the movie, stay for the community vibes.

“I’ve been watching Matchstick Productions films since I was a kid,” says Lachapelle. “To now bring hundreds of people together for this event, supporting young athletes and building the hype for winter—it’s honestly a dream come true.”
