INTERSECTION RECAP
The Reserves, a last-minute edition to the World Ski & Snowboard Festival’s (WSSF) Intersection lineup, took home a first-place cash prize of $10,000 last night in Whistler, B.C. Led by Joey Kraft, this crew and their film, titled Drop Out, did a mountain culture spoof on punk rockers.

Intersection, the last of the three multimedia shows at WSSF, was an event that pushed five crews of artistic snow sport visionaries to their limits as they challenged themselves to shoot, edit and submit a four-to-six minute winter action sports edit within 12 days.

These films were judged by an esteemed panel of judges including Jeff Schmuck, Editor of Forecast Ski Magazine; Chris Rasman, professional snowboarder; Alex Armstrong, professional big mountain skier; Jody Wachniak, host of Airtime Podcast and professional snowboarder; and Cassie Sharpe, Olympic halfpipe champion. The People’s Choice Award was voted on by attendees at the event.
In addition to the three multimedia events, WSSF also has a diverse lineup of musical acts, and sporting events including The Saudan Couloir Race Extreme, presented by Helly Hansen, The Cut Rail Jam presented by Rockstar Energy and Skullcandy, and The Slush Cup, presented by Corona, taking place this weekend, April 12 to 14th.
Born out of a love for all that is mountain culture, the World Ski & Snowboard Festival (WSSF) has been the ultimate après of the winter season since 1996. During this annual celebration of snow sports, music, arts, and culture, we will showcase Whistler’s reputation as a mecca for mountain culture.
