Intersection Recap
RK Films won Best of Show and the People’s Choice Award at Intersection presented by Bromley Sports during the World Ski & Snowboard Festival (WSSF) in Whistler, B.C. The audience was blown away by six diverse snow sports films that were shot, edited and produced within a seven day period.
The footage from RK Films’ winning film showcased Jerry, an inexperienced skier, trying to ski with his highly skilled friends. At the beginning of the film Jerry meets a girl named Sherry, who he falls in love with. As the day goes on Jerry’s friends take him up the mountain to the terrain park, through the trees and in the backcountry. Throughout the film, Jerry fails to keep up with his friends until the end where he lands an epic cliff jump to impress Sherry. Sadly, after landing the jump, Jerry finds out that Sherry has a boyfriend.
RK Films took home the grand prize of $10,000 for being named Best of Show by the judges, along with securing the People’s Choice Award.
Intersection presented by Bromley Sports challenged crews to shoot, edit and produce a film within a seven day period. All films had to be shot within 100 kilometres of Whistler, 75% on snow, with 30 seconds of park footage and 30 seconds of Whistler Blackcomb in-bounds terrain.
During the event, Francis Jobin was crowned as the winner of the second annual Best Clip Contest presented by Forecast and King Snow, and walked away with $500 cash... and now it's up to you to decide the People's Choice Award. To vote, follow @forecastski on Instagram, and like your favourite of the three nominated clips. The clip that receives the most likes before 11 p.m. on Monday, April 17th will score themselves a set of K2 Poacher skis and a pair of Oakley Flight Deck goggles and Latch sunglasses.
