Armada Launches Ski Boot Collection
Today, Armada, manufacturer of winter sports equipment, announced the launch of its first-ever ski boot collection, the AR ONE. The result of the collaborative effort from a global team with more than 100 years of experience in boot development, AR ONE is a unique concept, deliberately designed, rigorously tested, with a simple, utility-driven purpose: to fit like a cabrio boot with the performance of a four-buckle overlap design. A limited-edition size run will be available at select retailers starting January 10th, with the full line available next fall.
The AR ONE project began with an in-depth industry survey. Armada identified key issues that skiers face: poor heel hold, shin and toe bang, liner discomfort, a lack of direct and precise steering, and continual compromises between optimizing performance and comfort. “We wanted to make the boot that real skiers are looking for,” says Bransford Briggs, Ski Boot Product Line Manager at Armada. “Our objectives were to maximize heel hold while delivering a progressive flex and direct power transfer in a boot that is comfortable to wear all-day, every-day. To do that we needed to develop a new concept, and that is what led us to create the AR ONE’s Hybrid Cabrio Construction.”
The AR ONE’s unique Hybrid Cabrio construction is a first-of-its-kind design that offers the comfort of a cabrio boot and the performance of a traditional four-buckle model with the progressive flex that freeskiers require. The centerpiece of the construction is the Slingshot Buckle, which utilizes multi-vector tension to snugly wrap the foot and pull the heel backwards, locking it in place without uncomfortable pressure. The buckle, combined with a true progressive flex (dubbed “Natty Flex”), missing in many current cabrio offerings, solves many of the issues highlighted above. “The AR ONE brings true overlap performance characteristics to a three-piece cabrio design without compromising comfort,” says Matt Rihm, VP of Product at Armada. Other key features include: 1⁄2 tech inserts on the AR ONE 130, Memory Fit shell and liner, Kush Damping Boot Board, Team Elastic Cam 50mm Powerstrap, Power Shift, Cuff Alignment, and replaceable hardware.
Armada athletes from all disciplines were integral in the concept, testing, and design of the boot collection. From big mountain freeride athletes to dedicated freestyle skiers, the AR ONE lineup is a boot for all. “At the end of the day, freeskiers are all looking for the same things,” says Briggs. “That’s why we built this boot; you can stop thinking about your boots and start thinking about your skiing.”

The initial AR ONE line offers a medium volume 100mm last in five flex options. Early release models available this January include the 130 and 110 flex in sizes 24/.5, 26/.5, and 27/.5. The complete lineup—AR ONE 90, 100, 110, 120 & 130 in sizes 23/.5-29/.5—will be available in fall 2025 at retailers and online.
