"There’s very little that the Head Kore 93 can’t do. It’s intuitive, versatile, lively but not twitchy, and easy to ski and control at low or high speeds. It floated well enough in boot-high pow on open faces and in the trees, but felt more at home on the groomed, where it holds an edge, but easily releases, making scrubbing speed no problem. But it wasn’t a fan of heavy, tip-loaded slalom turns under its stated radius of 16 metres. So, providing you prefer slightly longer turns, the Kore 93 is an awesome option for a high-level intermediate to advanced skier who’s looking for one ski under 100 millimetres that can do it all." –Michael Cattie

Age: 37 / Height: 5’9” / Weight: 135 lbs / Occupation: Wildland Firefighter
The lone wolf on the periphery of our pack, Michael Cattie hails from the noble state of Delaware, where he grew up as Joe Biden’s neighbour, but now resides just over Rogers Pass from Revelstoke, in Golden. As a highly selective ski collector, he has a personal quiver of 11 pairs in his garage, which his friends often refer to as “a problem.” A former ski patroller and ski tech, he’s given all that up to be a wildland firefighter for Parks Canada in the summer, and a full-time backcountry bloodhound in the winter. He still adores resort days at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, and is a slash-and-spray kind of skier who loves riding switch in pow. In-bounds, he prefers a flat ski with dual rocker, 110 millimetres of waist, and 186 centimetres of length.
