“Riding the Fischer Ranger 102 allowed me to feel free while skiing all over the mountain. Its flatter camber profile felt familiar to me, and matched my skiing style very well. Even though the Ranger was slightly narrower than what I’m accustomed to, it was great to see how well it performed in deep powder conditions. I found it to have great flotation and be very forgiving in steep and deep terrain. Its ability to pivot quickly allowed me to ride some more technical lines in both the alpine and trees without having to think. This ski’s reasonable weight, stability and camber profile would make this an ideal all-around resort and ski-touring shred stick that I could use in almost any condition.” –Kent Christensen

Your classic park-rat-turned-powder-skier, you might be able to guess which province Kent Christensen is originally from. The fast-footed, Ontario-born two-planker discovered his love for powder while going to university in Quebec, and moved to Revelstoke shortly thereafter, where he now pursues the deep stuff full-time in the winter. He earns his turns by the tree, planting as many of them as he can each summer to fund his ski season. As the president of the Revelstoke chapter of the conservation group Wildsight, Christensen’s thoughtful and caring character is all but obscured by the powerful smashiness of his full-throttle skiing. He’s a multi-faceted skier that shines in any kind of terrain, but with his tall stature typically rides a 190-centimetre, 110- to 120-millimetre-underfoot, flat or fully rockered ski.
