Test Notes
The Blizzard Rustler 10 is an intermediate to advanced freeride skier’s all-mountain weapon. I had the opportunity to test the 186-centimetre length in a breadth of conditions, including fresh snow, resort crud and slush, and was impressed by its overall versatility. It handled everything with consistency—damp, but torsionally rigid, and responsive, but not twitchy. The early rise in the tip and tail made this ski quick in tighter, steeper situations, but the touch of camber underfoot kept my turns honest at speed on groomers while connecting my favourite tree runs at my home resort. It wouldn’t be my first choice off the rack following a big overnight dump, but if you’re in the one-ski-quiver market and are looking for an all-condition Cinderella slipper with no speed limit, you should give the Rustler a solid look. —Nicholas Lampard
Pros
- Incredibly versatile.
- Confidence-invoking at all speeds.
- Excels all over the mountain.
Cons
- Leaves a bit to be desired in overly steep, technical terrain.
- Skis admirably in powder, but feels a bit narrow in super deep snow.
