I absolutely loved the Salomon QST X. I found this ski to be surprisingly maneuverable and playful, especially considering its substantial width. Even though it’s on the softer side of things compared to some powder skis, it still demonstrated impressive stability underfoot and had no problem crushing crud, cruising at high speeds, and stomping big airs. I had a blast on the QST X during one of the best powder days of the year, and skied it in everything from steep, open faces to playful pillow fields to tight trees. It performed incredibly well in nearly every type of powder-focused terrain, however I do feel it’s best suited towards bigger, open lines. I also had the chance to take this ski out on a late-season tour, and was thrilled with the ease of its uphill performance as well. —Gavin Andison
