First off, Rossignol, what can I say? The maker of great skis since almost forever has done it again with the Sender Soul 102. This all-mountain, freeride-oriented ski has a very traditional feel and popped out of the turn, with a subtle early rise in the shovel and camber almost to the tail. It was easy to ski, and incredibly versatile, which allowed me to shred everything from long, open avalanche gullies, to steep trees with silky pow, dust on crust, frozen crud, sticky wet snow, and smooth groomers. This ski—which is narrower than my usual daily driver, but could easily be my or anyone’s new daily driver—never faltered, and not once did I feel that I was on the wrong ski for the conditions. Performance is easily achieved at any level on the Sender Soul 102, so max out your fun metre, and embrace the art of the turn on this ski, anywhere, anytime. —Colin Taylor
