The Rossignol Sender Free 118 was, by far, the most fun ski I rode last winter. I was fortunate enough to get on it after a metre of snow fell in only two days, and it exceeded any expectation I could have had. It’s a burly, heavy charger designed for the deepest of powder days, the steepest lines you can seek out, and its name speaks for itself; making you feel free, thinking you have 18-year-old legs again, and of course, sending it! Not for the faint of heart—or for those who avoid advanced terrain, enjoy casually carving groomers, and love staying on-piste—this expert-level ski performed best when attacking steep, open powder fields, and found a natural balance between Mach 10 speeds and complete control in deep snow. The Sender Free 118 should be a mandatory set of skis in the quiver for anyone who loves charging bell-to-bell and dancing with the snow gods on a pow day. Get after it, folks. —Jack Lesnik
