The brand-new Rossignol Sender Free 100 is an awesome all-around ski for anyone who likes skiing anywhere on any mountain. It was playful and easy to turn, yet stable and powerful. I would describe the 178-centimetre length I tested it in as a perfect "big ski" for a smaller, aggressive skier. It charged the fall line with speed, stomped landings with confidence, and carved perfect arcs big or small. At 100-millimetres underfoot, it provided the perfect balance of floatation and penetration in soft snow. Its balanced stance and sidecut, combined with some camber and early rise, made for easy, stable turns on the groomers and poppy and playful ones in soft snow and crud. I sampled this ski in some of the Kootenays’ finest powder, and it was fun and effortless from the very first turn, leaving me wanting one more run as the daylight faded. Another ripper from Rossignol! —Colin Taylor
