The Rossignol Arcade 94 is the next step in the evolution of the expert all mountain ski. For the last 20 years, we’ve seen ski companies try to blend frontside characteristics into wider, more versatile platforms without compromising ski performance. This ski achieves exactly that. It’s a beast of a ski. It demolished crud, was fast as lightning, and took me everywhere on the mountain. And it’s really stiff. But surprisingly, it didn’t ski as stiff as it flexes. It cranked turns like a true race ski, but didn’t shoot me out of the turn if I didn’t want it to, and glided effortlessly between arcs of all shapes and sizes. It’s a very adaptable ski. If you really want to dial up the speed and lay down some fast turns, then buckle them boots up tight and hang on, because this ski is an absolute rocket. At 94-millimetres underfoot, it’s got enough girth to crush backside laps, and enough early rise to ski some moderate snow depth, but you probably wouldn’t take it out on a pow day. This is a true expert ski. It’s not for beginners or intermediates, as a less aggressive skier won’t be able to unlock the Arcade’s true high-end performance. —Dylan Strelioff
