The Nordica Unleashed 120 might be the greatest ski Nordica has ever produced. Surfy, poppy, and remarkably nimble for its size, the Unleashed is a damn good time for anyone who likes snorkelling in powder. At 180-centimetres long and 120-millimetres underfoot, this ski never once felt like too much to handle. The progressive rocker in the tip and tail allowed me to hop from pillow-to-pillow with ease, or schmear my way down a blank canvas of pow like Picasso in his prime. The Unleashed is also fairly lightweight for a ski of its width, and would make for a great backcountry companion, especially on those deep missions. But what surprised me the most about this ski was its progressive flex and how that translated to a smooth, stable ride, even on some groomed runs. While it’s certainly not a ski for everyone, the Unleashed may just be your new best friend if you’re a true powder hound. —Gavin Andison
