The Nordica Unleashed 106 CA is a lightweight unisex freeride ski that’s quick, lively and easy to throw around. It’s a playful, versatile ski that felt right at home in soft snow, chop, trees, glades and technical terrain. Its carbon construction keeps the ski light and agile, which made it easy to maneuver through tight spaces, pivot quickly, and explore creative lines. This ski has a surfy, responsive feel that encouraged slashing turns, popping off natural features, and making the most of powder days. It performed particularly well in soft snow and handled variable conditions reasonably well, though it is not as damp or powerful as a heavier, metal-equipped ski. In steep terrain, the Unleashed 106 CA was easy to control and inspired confidence with its quick, nimble nature. While it can carve groomers, it truly shined off-piste where its playful personality really came alive. Intermediate to advanced female or male skiers who value agility, maneuverability and fun over high-speed charging will appreciate the balanced and approachable performance of the Unleashed 106 CA. —Laurie Frankcom
