The Line Optic 96 is an enjoyably dependable all-mountain freeride ski that excels in all types of terrain, making it an ideal choice for any intermediate to expert skier who’s looking for one ski that truly can and will do it all. I tested this ski primarily in dust-on-crust snow, and was pleasantly surprised to discover that it carved as smoothly on groomers as it tackled off-piste terrain in firm, skied-out conditions. The Optic 96 has a damp feel to it that provided an impressive amount of stability in adverse snow, which is where it seemed most at home, and was easy and playful to turn regardless of where I took it on the mountain. —Jordie Hall
