The K2 Mindbender 111 is a very intuitive, do-it-all ski that was enjoyable to ride right from the get go, and reminded me of a more serious but still fun version of the K2 Reckoner 112. It has a progressive flex pattern, and the tips and tails are stiffer than its aforementioned counterpart, which made it a fast and stable but still somehow very playful ski that any soft snow-loving intermediate to expert skier would enjoy. Getting a bit more centred on it made for a loose and poppy ride, while positioning myself more forward allowed it to charge super well, particularly in variable snow conditions and open terrain. It had a tendency to want to ski fast, but shedding speed was enjoyably easy, which made it a blast in the narrow hallways of Red Mountain Resort’s steep trees. —Matias Olivares
