A worthy member of the Kore lineup, the Head Kore 105 might be the most versatile of the bunch. A no bullshit charger that was equally exciting to carve down groomers as it was to smash off-piste, I found this year’s model floated a little easier than previous versions of the Kore 105. Whether it's a little lighter, or the tip is a hair softer, it’s a better powder ski than its predecessors, without sacrificing anything anywhere else. But don't get the wrong impression. It's still a stiff ski throughout, and the harder I bent it, it the hungrier it got. I like to get low and ski aggressively, which is the perfect style for this ski. I could really drive them, and like the Kore 111 preferred mounting them a little forward of recommended, as it allowed me to break the tails free a little faster, which was handy when I didn’t want to slow down in tight trees. I can't say enough good things about this ski, and here’s hoping Head never stops making it. —John Truden
