The Rossignol Blackops 118 is a coveted freeride pow ski. I have a pair in my personal quiver, and look for any and every excuse to take it out. The centred mounting point allows it to be very manoeuvrable, despite the large waistband. It would be a perfect ski for any freerider looking for a playful day on the hill—especially if you’re into new-fangled backward skiing trickery in the deep stuff—and I’ve always loved the stiffness and support offered in the rockered tip and tail. So enjoy the thrill of a double-rockered pow ski, and avoid the tip chattering and judgmental looks that come along with it. While the shape and size make this a powder-oriented ski, the flex is designed to go to work for you in any type of conditions. —SEAN ENNIS
