The Nordica Santa Ana Unlimited 93 is an all-mountain explorer. An out-of-bounds kind of gal. Some might even say an uphill-loving goat in the backcountry. The light weight and versatility of this touring-focused ski would make it a great option for someone who’s just starting out in the backcountry, or simply looking for a good time on those fair weather, soft snow days. The construction of this ski gave it a grippy, stable feel when ripping corduroy turns, but a floaty, poppy experience in the pow. Given its waist width, the Santa Ana Unlimited 93 wouldn’t be my first choice on a deep day, but it did a great job of maintaining its adaptability in a variety of conditions. It would be ideal for a morning on the resort, followed by a slackcountry afternoon, as it will make your uphill experience easy breezy, and your descent as smooth as butter. —KATIE SPITTLEHOUSE
