As the lightest and stiffest-feeling ski I tried, the Head Kore 105 was like the Toyota 4Runner of the test for me. I enjoyed it best beyond the ropes in powder, trees and steeps, to the point that I would eagerly mount a hybrid binding on it for all sorts of all-mountain adventuring. But as a result of its damp feel and the quickness of this ski’s edge-to-edge transitioning ability, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it performed on the groomers back to the chair and hard-pack snow in general. The Kore 105 is impressively constructed, and would require a confident and athletic pilot to make the most out of all the technology and materials that this ski delivers, because I found that the harder I pushed it, the better the experience. —PATRICK KINGHORN
