In the midst of a mid-winter drought across British Columbia, the Fischer Ranger 90 proved to be an ideal ski for low-tide conditions. It never felt overly aggressive, which was nice for me, but was still fast, stable and carved incredibly well on the groomers, even in icy conditions, and really excelled on compact and firm snow. I spent a few days chasing my kids’ race team on it, and found it was the perfect tool to help improve my on-piste performance. So if you’re looking to spark some life into your lefts and rights on the beaten path, but also prefer a ski with all-mountain versatility versus something that’s solely designed for railing groomers, consider adding the Ranger 90 to your quiver. —ANDREA MCCORMICK
