The all-new Faction Mana 3 is the perfect compromise between the directional versus double rocker dilemma. I had to double-check that it was actually 112 millimetres underfoot, because it skied with the ease of something much narrower. The support and technical demands of a directional ski are there, but accompanied by the light, playful and poppy characters that you would expect from a freestyle-focused ski. I would highly recommend the Mana to off-piste-loving advanced skiers who are looking for something incredibly versatile, as the ski’s playful behaviour allowed for a touch of forgiveness when skiing fast, and was willing and able to make the quick decisions that come along with it. —SEAN ENNIS
