I’ve always heard that the ballerina is the greatest athlete in the world, and the Faction Dancer 3X embraces this identity. Like a dancer, this ski is strong and able to charge through the roughest conditions, but nimble and controlled when gracefully manoeuvring through technical terrain. As one of the more aggressive skis in the test, it kept me on my toes, as there’s no lazy posture for a dancer, so it’d be best for advanced to expert skiers. I really liked it in steeper terrain, as I could ski a powder line, hit the tracked-out main runs, and follow it up by slicing into a groomer. The transitions were seamless, which allowed this ski to shine in all snow conditions. The Faction Dancer 3X combines power and agility to create a beautiful rhythmic movement as you follow gravity downhill. —KATE VERHAGEN
