If you’re like me, you dream about powder skis and touring skis, but give little thought to the ski you’re on 90 per cent of the time—the every day ski. The Dynastar E-Pro 99 changed that for me. I loved this ski. There was an instant connection with it, as it made me feel immediately comfortable and gave me a sense of home and trust, while making every day fun again. It was stable yet nimble, and bounced through the tight trees at Red Mountain Resort, only to pop out and hold a stable edge on high-paced groomers while keeping its integrity in skied-out conditions on post-powder days. Instead of lamenting a lack of new snow, I would eagerly grab the E-Pro 99 for a day of all-mountain carefree ripping with my friends. Anyone could ski this ski, but I feel an intermediate to expert skier would experience the same connection I did, with no learning curve. —KATE VERHAGEN
