The Blizzard Rustler 10 is a reliable and agile all-mountain ski that tackled any type of terrain with poise and ease. On the groomed, thanks to a nimble swing weight in the tip and a heaping-helping of sturdiness underfoot, I loved how predictable and smooth it was at any speed, which gave me an immediate sense of trust in it—the main thing I look for in a ski. But I was most pleasantly surprised by how well it performed off the beaten path, as initially, given how nimble it felt, I was worried that it might not cut the mustard. But upon pointing it into boot-high-pow and dust-on-crust in the trees and steeps, I was impressed by its stability and eagerness to mow down whatever was in its way. As a result, the Rustler 10 would be an ideal do-it-all ski for an intermediate who can hold his own on the corduroy and in gentler off-piste terrain, but is looking for a ski that will help transform his dad turns into kick turns by becoming a more advanced skier. —JEFF SCHMUCK
