Book your studio time now, because the Faction Studio 3 is the true definition of a quiver killer. It’s rare for me to step onto a new ski and immediately feel confident on the first run, but the Studio did exactly that, and brought out an aggressiveness, and dare I say slight recklessness, to my skiing. With the perfect mix of stability, playfulness, smeariness and float, this ski was impeccably prepared to handle any type of snow conditions and terrain I chose to take on, and caused me to get swept up in it. Faction has achieved the ideal balance of allowing grab and edge hold when you need it most, combined with the ease of release, which kept me confident in tricky situations. My long time favourite ski is ready to be replaced, and the Studio is going to slot in perfectly. —Kate Lesnik
