The Faction Dancer 3’s graphic put a smile on my face before I even clicked into the bindings, as it feels like a throwback to a past era of freestyle. Dare I say long skinny skis, leather boots, wool sweaters and stretch pants. Simpler times. Looks are only topsheet deep though, as this ski is jam-packed with technology. It has ample camber plus early rise in the tip and tail, which allowed for quick, surfy turns in soft, deep snow through steep trees and deep gullies, and its stability at high speed in both open terrain and on groomers was rock solid. So if you’re looking to dance your way down the rowdiest lines with ease, or get teary eyed behind some aviators while ripping lines in the spring, look no further than the Dancer. Dig into the deepest powder with a bit of 1970’s style, ski off into the sunset, and dance like nobody’s watching! —Colin Taylor
