Faction markets the Agent 3 as a touring ski, and while it’s lightweight and excels in the backcountry, it has a whole lot more to offer than just being light on the skin track. It’s the Swiss army knife of skis, in that it possesses the right tool for the job in nearly any situation. Plain and simply, it just does everything really well. It’s light and nimble, was easy to throw around in tight trees and on billy goat faces, and smooth and grippy on the hard pack, where it arced long and effortless turns on the way back to the chair. At 106 millimetres underfoot, it was wide enough to crush pow days without torquing my knees by finding the bottom, and is not an overly stiff ski, with a forgiving but supportive flex that didn’t come off as soft. Skiing on the Agent was like putting on a pair of broken-in Kinco gloves. They fit just right, and they’re the only pair you’ll ever need. —Dylan Strelioff
