In my opinion, the Dynastar M-Free 112 was the best ski in this year’s test. As soon as I stepped into the bindings, I knew I was in for a good day. Whether I was slashing, charging, catching air or carving, the M-Free was the ultimate freeride tool. Its hybrid core reinforcement underfoot makes this ski extremely stable and powerful at high speed, yet it felt remarkably light and responsive, which allowed for nimble turns. When I first picked this ski up I was a little worried about its weight, as I tend to prefer a lighter ski, but I was pleasantly shocked by how easily it turned and popped. I was fortunate enough to test this ski on both a pow day and a groomer day, and I can confidently say that it’s a big mountain quiver-killer. If I could only recommend a single ski in the entire test to any freerider out there, the Dynastar M-Free 112 is the one. —Gavin Andison
