With the Rustler 11, Blizzard stays true to its big mountain roots by delivering a wide platform ski without softening and watering it down to make it more accessible to anyone and everyone. It’s a true expert ski meant for charging big lines, surfing deep pow and stomping landings. At 114-millimetres underfoot, it gives you plenty of ski to work with, but is still quick and agile as opposed to being a tank. I don’t normally ski something this wide, but I loved the Rustler because it moved like a narrower ski, and didn’t give me the planky feeling that I tend to experience with wider skis. It adapted to everything I threw at it, whether it was crud, pow, moguls or trees. Smiles everywhere I went. Aggressive skiers looking for a big mountain machine will have a great time on this ski. It excelled across the board, even on hardpack groomers, where it still skied like a more slender ski. Lighter, less aggressive skiers may find it a bit too much, as although the Rustler skis smaller than it looks, it still requires some strength to get the maximum amount of performance out of this ski. —Dylan Strelioff
