The Blizzard Black Pearl 94 is as quick as lightning, and when I leaned into this ski’s impressive amount of momentum, it really ripped. Upon letting it know who’s boss, it drove and carved perfectly, which provided me with a sense of trust that it would hold an edge on even the firmest of snow. As an awesome one-ski-quiver that’s great for soft and hard snow, I could destroy both groomers and steep terrain with the Black Pearl beneath my feet, and would love to shred chalky chutes on it all day. It’s also worth noting that I tested this ski in a 170-centimetre length (my everyday ski is a 172, at 110 millimetres underfoot), and despite being just 94 millimetres in the waist, I wouldn’t recommend sizing up, as it prefers to be driven to perform at its best. So to sum it up: sturdy, aggressive, and responsive… you just have to keep up! —Rachael Roussin
