The Blizzard Anomaly 102 is a fun and reactive ski. Its stiffer flex was especially useful when getting the perfect amount of air required to clear nasty troughs on busy mogul runs. At 102-millimetres underfoot, it floated very well on the five-to-10-centimetres of fresh I skied it on, which had fallen the night before on an older firm base. While skiing with a larger group that included a range of skier abilities, the Anomaly allowed me to find fun side hits along groomed runs while keeping track of how everyone else was doing. Once the group got smaller later on in the day, I was able to experience how fun the light and nimble characteristics of this ski proved to be in the trees. As so often happens at Red Mountain Resort, my last run of the day down the Judges’ Line on the north side of Grey Mountain was almost untouched, which helped the Anomaly make a super fun, fresh, face-shot pow run to finish a fantastic day that much better. —Mike Flood
