BC Dealer Demo @ Sun Peaks | 2026/2027 Product Preview

Words by Jeff Schmuck

With the clock set to strike March 21st this coming weekend, spring is officially in the air. And although there may be plenty of winter left yet thanks to our old friend Magic March, the harsh reality is that it unfortunately won’t be long now until the 2025/2026 ski season comes to a bitter end. So in an effort to get ahead of those forthcoming end-of-season blues, we figured it’s an appropriate time to begin giddily looking ahead to next winter by offering a preview of some of the latest and greatest skis that will be arriving in your local ski shop this fall.

To facilitate this, we once again journeyed to Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops, British Columbia earlier this winter for the fun-filled festivities that make up the BC Dealer Demo, in which nearly every ski and snowboard shop in the province and hardgoods brand under the sun congregates at Canada’s second-largest resort to put next winter’s gear through the paces.

Sun Peaks, B.C.

With 4,400 acres of skiable terrain spread out across three mountains that offer a wide variety of terrain for skiers of all ages and abilities, and an incredibly convenient ski-in / ski-out, Swiss-style, vehicle-free village with a surplus of comfortable hotels, eclectic restaurants and welcoming ski and snowboard shops, Sun Peaks serves as a perfect venue for the BC Dealer Demo, which has become a highly anticipated tradition for quite literally everyone who makes the annual pilgrimage to this deservingly beloved resort for the event.

Sun Peaks Resort

Looming above the sea of branded tents that are packed to the brim with exciting new products are long, rolling and perfectly-manicured groomers, an abundance of well-spaced glades that are peppered throughout the resort, and a dose of high-alpine meadows that offer stunning views of the surrounding Thompson-Okanagan region, all of which is blanketed in the light and dry champagne powder this part of British Columbia is so world-renowned for.

The event itself begins with a welcome reception at the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel & Conference Centre, which is situated right at the base area and across a snow-covered, part skier, part pedestrian lane from the Sun Peaks Lodge, which served as our warm and cozy home away from home from the week. The reception sees each brand showcase the products attendees will have the chance to schuss lefts and rights on over the next two days, serving as a de facto trade show of sorts where old friends and new get to mingle, talk shop and catch-up about their respective winters thus far. Then, following some obligatory night caps being consumed at Bottoms—Sun Peaks’ go-to bar—it was time to get to “work.”
