I loved how agile and maneuverable the Atomic Maven 103 CTI was in any type of terrain and conditions I took it. As someone who enjoys steep tree skiing, I need a ski that’s nimble and quick to turn, and the Maven more than delivered. Despite its directional design, it was easy to pivot and hop down slopes, and the ski’s strong flex pattern made it stable in firm snow and crud while still being playful and lively in the soft stuff. It held an edge well and provided fun-filled runs on-piste, while off-piste, it handled a wide variety of advanced terrain, from tight trees to big open bowls to steeper slopes, where its responsiveness inspired confidence, making sharp, precise turns a breeze. Best suited for all-mountain skiing, the Maven offered a ton of versatility by performing admirably on hard pack, floating in powder, and cutting through crud and uneven snow, which made for a stable and smooth ride anywhere on the resort. —Laurie Frankcom
