2026 Product Preview | Sun Peaks B.C. Retailers Demo

Earlier this winter, nearly every ski and snowboard shop in British Columbia congregated with the snowsports industry’s top brands for the time-honoured tradition of the annual B.C. Retailers Demo.

The demo’s host with the most? Canada’s second largest ski area: Sun Peaks Resort. After the event was moved from its longtime home of Big White back in 2023, the sprawling but still quaint-feeling resort that is Sun Peaks has served as an ideal and welcoming location for this gathering of the tribe, which eagerly returned to the multifaceted slopes high above Kamloops, B.C. for the third year in a row.

A significant part of the reason why is just how well Sun Peaks’ layout lends itself to testing skis, or any ski trip for that matter. With its European-style, ski-in, ski-out village, lightning-quick lifts, and a host of hot lappable groomers and glades for skiers of any and all abilites, Sun Peaks’ 4,270 acres of skiable terrain provided everyone in attendance with the opportunity to test an abundance of different planks per day.

Over the course of the two days of demoing, we were graced with a light dusting of snow upon arrival, followed by a day of firmer conditions, which encouraged attendees to try skis of all shapes and sizes, as opposed to solely gravitating towards narrower offerings or their wider counterparts.

And speaking of said skis, now that spring has sprung and ski season is winding down, here’s a tease of what’s coming down the pipeline for next winter and will be arriving at your friendly neighbourhood ski shop this fall…
