This year marks Elan Skis’ 75th anniversary, and the storied ski brand certainly has a lot to celebrate. Over the last three-quarters of a century, the Slovenian-based company has pioneered many firsts in ski construction that all skiers should be thankful for, including parabolic shapes, cap construction, screen-printed graphics, integrated skis and bindings, and other technology that forever changed the sport for the better.
So in an effort to salute this rich history—and 75 years of good times—we’ve opted to team up with Elan for our latest contest. Up for grabs is a throwback-themed memento that they’ve unveiled to honour their heritage: a special edition, corduroy slaying Wingman 86 CTi that bears the 80s-era graphics of Elan’s iconic RC Comprex ski, plus a 200-centimetre-long pair of those as well (complete with screw-on bindings), RC Rod Pink ski poles, and a retro hoodie and toque.
To enter for your chance to win this back to the future-like package, follow @elanskis and @forecastski on Instagram, and show us you’re a student of the old school by direct-messaging a photo of you rocking vintage ski gear to @forecastski. Whether it’s a shot of you keeping it real back in the day, or a more recent image of you getting after it on Gaper Day, we want to see some straight skis, knitted sweaters and neon one-pieces! We’ll then scroll through our inbox in January to pick our favourite one, and send you this sweet retro setup and the best Wingman you could possibly ask for on the slopes. Good luck!
