VOLKL 100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CONTEST

When one looks back on the history of skiing, and which brands have played a pivotal role in making the sport what it is, it’s irrefutable that Völkl should be at the top of the list. The company, which was founded in Straubing, Lower Bavaria, Germany, in 1923 by Franz Völkl, has been producing some of the most technical, reliable and beloved skis since its inception, from its first model, the Vöstra, to this year’s line-up. And this winter, Völkl will be deservingly celebrating a major milestone: its 100th year anniversary.

So to help commemorate its centennial, we’ve opted to team up with the iconic brand for our first contest of the fall, in which you can win any current pair of Völkl skis of your choosing, pending availability.

To enter, do some research on Völkl’s storied history, and send us a direct message on Instagram (@forecastski) with the answer to the following trivia question: which product did Franz Völkl’s father, Georg, start out building? Note that you must be Canadian to be eligible, and that the contest will close at the beginning of November, at which point we’ll drop all of the usernames who sent us the correct answer into a hat, and randomly select the winner.
